While it is not absolutely necessary to print an Excel table with row & column headers and gridlines, you may find that when you do print a large table or list with these elements that you can more easily find the information you need.

In this learning object “Excel gridlines”, you will find out not only how to print the row & column headers, but the normally non-printing gridlines as well.

 

Excel gridlines:HOW DOES IT WORK?

If you want to print the gridlines and/or the row & column headers on your printout, switch to the Page Layout tab.

There you can use the dialog box launcher in the Page Setup group to open the Page Setup dialog box. After you’ve done that, select the Sheet tab.

In the Print area, you can then specify whether the gridlines and the row & column headers should also be printed. Once you’ve made your settings, click OK.
